We are looking for an experienced functional safety engineer, with a background in the automotive industry, or similar sector.

As a Functional Safety Engineer you are equipped with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills that allow you to develop a system and manage its complexity, from the concept phase, through its design and validation, to the industrialization phase, implementing a structured engineering process (V-Model). You are also responsible for defining the appropriate verification and validation plan tailored to the specific application, and support the industrialization phase of the product, including its certification / homologation.

To succeed at blubrake you must be energetic, highly organized, and hard working.

You should have a passion for technology and mobility, together with the capability to solve complex problems in a very limited time.

Main areas of activities:

  • Define product requirements specification supporting stakeholders in requirements elicitation
  • Analyze concept architecture and classify the safety risk of the system, deriving the high-level safety requirements
  • Translate the product requirements and the safety requirements into detailed system design solutions, analyzing pros and cons of each one, specify lower level requirements allocated to mechanical, hardware and software components
  • Carry out Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA) to support the system design and the requirements definition
  • Interface and follow-up with the different product development area in blubrake to ensure that the requirements are adequately implemented and tested.
  • Define application specific verification and validation plansaimed to ensure that the product can be industrialized (i.e. released for production) and certified or homologated

Required background and technical skills:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering with best grades
  • At least 5 years of experience in the automotive sector in similar context, alternatively in system design of industrial machinery or medical devices
  • Ability to carry out hazard analysis and risk assessment
  • Knowledge of the safety lifecycleaccording to safety standards(IEC 61508, ISO 26262, EN ISO 13849 or equivalent)
  • Maniacal attention to details and formalization of documents
  • Capability of defining and formalize development processes, suggesting improvements where appropriate, knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or equivalent
  • Knowledge of model-based system design (SysML or UML) and V-Model lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Matlab / Simulink or Enterprise Architect is a plus
  • Software development skills in C / Python are a plus
  • Knowledge of CAN bus and logging systems is a plus

We are looking for an Electronic Engineer who will join the Hardware Engineering Team of Blubrake; we manage at the same time many fast electronic projects. You will take part of the electronic design, certification and industrialization of advanced systems. you will play a key role in developing hardware products from design phase through field sustaining phase and act as technical reference in the hardware engineering team for electronic design.

An example of your activities:

  • Create hardware design solutions such as digital circuit design, microprocessor-based board level design, printed circuit board layout, motherboard design, digital signal processing and/or real time embedded multiprocessor design
  • Define and verify internal standards for the editing of requirements list, architectural specifications, user and technical manuals
  • Design product solutions and features using CAD tools (e.g. Altium Designer)
  • Plan, prioritize and organize work activities also balancing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Provide the clear documents and strong technical supports to the contract manufacturers and production department during the product sample and production stages

Required background and technical skills:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in electronics design
  • Proven capability in design and development of an electronic system from first concept to production
  • Extensive experience in schematic design, PCB layout design, simulations, DFMEA, and risk assessment
  • Ability to effectively solve problems related to EMC compliance and thermal management
  • Hands-on experience with test & measurement equipment
  • Firmware programming in C language is a plus
  • Functional safety knowledge is a plus

The firmware team is part of the Research and development team, the candidate will report to the Firmware development responsible. The candidate will need to learn from his/her teammates and needs to improve his/her skills day by day.

The firmware team contributes during all phases of the product development, starting from the requirements, to the design of the firmware architecture, to the selection of the most appropriate and effective technologies to be employed, to the development and finally to test, validate and release the firmware solutions. 

The team also guarantees the proper quality control on the released firmware through extensive and structured testing activities, based on test protocols and test reports. 

The firmware team works in strict contact with our multidisciplinary organization made of highly skilled engineers and designers working in diverse information technology fields, ranging from hardware engineers, control engineers, product validation engineers and product managers.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree in Computer Science or Electronics 
  • 2+ years of expertise about firmware development in automotive or aerospace industry in ANSI-C
  • Contribute to all phases of the product software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, automated test, release, support and documentation
  • Design modulare firmware that is maintainable, scalable and reusable across blubrake product line
  • Basic knowledge of the MISRA C guidelines 
  • Practical knowledge of the most widespread MCU architectures 
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in teams

Other nice to have requirements:

  • Practical knowledge of high-level programming language (C#, Java)
  • Experience on CANbus, CANopen and BLE protocol

The Quality Engineer will interact with the R&D team and with production team and his/her main task will be related to:

  • Develop and implement quality management system
  • Interact with production and R&D team to manage and increase quality
  • Monitoring suppliers, auditing them and managing their continuous improvement

  • Monitoring quality related KPIs (e.g. non quality cost, number of non-conformities)

Requirements

We are looking for a Technician Laboratory Supervisor driven by ambition and excelling at problem solving and team working.
The laboratory in Blubrake has the goal to assemble prototypes, assist our research and development team in setting up the assembly process and perform tests to validate our products. All activities are executed in strict contact with the research and development team, the industrialization team and quality team.
Example of your activities will be:

  • Organizing and supervising the activity of the laboratory, ensuring that all planned tasks are completed in time and policies and standards are followed
  • Prototype-assembly
  • Installation of our products on e-bikes
  • Testing our products, both on bench and on bike (are you a bike rider?)
  • Maintenance of a fleet of demo e-bikes

Required background and technical skills:

  • Technical Secondary School Diploma in Electronic, Informatics or similar topics
  • At least 5 years of experience on a manufacturing environment of electromechanics devices
  • Hands-on experience with electronic tools assembly, cabling and testing
  • Mechanical skills to inspect tools and e-bikes and determine whether they are up to company standard and, if needed to repair them
